The new Metallica CD is freaking awesome. I can't stop listening to it!
This is the Metallica that I love. Heavy, angry, everything metal should be. All the songs are a good length too, the shortest song being My Apocalypse, clocking in at 5:01. For the record, the longest is Suicide & Redemption at 9:58.
Amazing production from Rick Rubin (thank the Gods they finally got rid of Bob Rock). Death Magnetic also sees the return of the Kirk Hammet guitar solo. Holy shit, I love me some Kirk Hammet guitar solos.
This CD is especially awesome after the crapfest that was St. Anger. I'm one happy Metallica fan. =]
